its your levels they all have seprate volume adjustments in the settings. the centerchannel and rear channels will only work in dolby prologic. or suround. fronts will only play in stereo mode. its in the settings yull se center volume rear volume. you need all 5 speakers hooked up for the dolby to work proper. the center will put out the main sound followed by your left ,right fronts. the rears will add filler. hope that helps some. but yeah i have a feeling its the volume levels.
wow hmm Idk what it could be.. are you sure you have the polarity right on every speaker? otherwize I really don’t know without being there and seeing how your wires are hooked up
Whenever i am testing recievers i usually use the first speaker wire i could find, but sometimes that wire could not be too great. Thats when i get ambitious, and search for some real stuff. Usually the more beefier recievers reject the thinner speaker wire more. In your case i would cut the wire ends off, and restrip them. Sometimes the wire ends could get crispy, and corroded.
the wire I have is either 10 or 12ga, one sounded weak and i replaced the wire temporarily with a 18ga wire and it sounded better! I think the wire is just olddd

nope just come crappy wires and needed 2 more speakers connected. the only thing wrong with it was a burnt out display bulb

i think it was mainly because i didn’t have all speakers hooked up. it’s sounding good now

I hate wal-mart with a passion ugh..
might be worth it though.
the wire i was using has clear insulation, and i can see corrosion all throughout the wire.. it’s garbage hahaha
i hope 16ga is enough

Before you do that go to Wal Mart, or Kmart to see how cheaper wire is there first. Radio Shack gets kinda pricey.
December 4th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
I did that and it was pretty crappy still. :
I’m gonna get some 16 gauge wire at radio shack pretty soon. 100ft for 22 bucks…
even if that’s not big enough.. i can double it up with that kind of length

Sometimes i found out that if you have frayed speaker wire ends the sound could be faint along with having too thin of speaker wire also.
