vacuum cleaner?
By
i need to get a vacuum cleaner, but i don’t know which ones work pretty well, is durable, and definitely not expensive. i also got some space saver bags and realize you need a certain hose to place in it to take out all the air. Any recommendations on what vacuum cleaner I should get?
Thanks to all those who reply!

Depends on your needs. Get a cheap electric broom for lightweight cleanups. Get a cannister vacuum for heavy duty jobs.
My Eureka vacuum is still sucking dirt after 22 years of service. Wow!

The best inexpensive vacuums are usually upright – and Kenmore vacuums from Sears are consistently good as are vacuums by Hoover and Eureka for just general floor cleaning. However, if you want to use your Spacesaver bags, you’ll need a cannister vacuum that will reverse the hose (some do and some don’t, so look for this feature). However, canisters are generally less good for just general floor vacuuming than uprights but can be better for things like upholstery and stairs.

I own a Rainbow and I love it, and it comes with the attachment for sucking air out of bags. or pillows or cushions or what have ya. But unfortunatly they are very expensive, but I don’t have to ever buy dirt bags, because all the dirt goes into water.
but, if you want something cheap, then find one at a thrift store. you can buy Kirby’s there sometimes for like $10.00.

If you’re counting your money, then you can still find a nice Hoover at an affordable price.

I LOVE my Dyson! It has great suction and it’s attachments, including a hose which works on Space Saver Bags.
Check it out!

Best low cost upright: Hoover Windtunnel U5470-900 for $100.
Not the self propelled model (too heavy).
Best upright at $300. [cheaper on ebay] Sears kenmore progressive (Bagged, not bagless).
Bagless vacuums are messy and there are other filters to clean which need to be cleaned often.
Canister vacuums do a lot more work but you have to drag the canister around behind you. I have and love the Sears Kenmore Progressive canister model..
