Long hair cats get lots of tangles and matted hair, especially older and fatter ones that can’t reach the back. Don’t worry, it’s not vanity.

Did that lady just say “She hasnt had a bath to calm her down?”
CATS DONT LIKE WATER. WATER DOES NOT CALM THEM DOWN.

oh my gosh!
youre not supposed to cut a long haired cats hair off, its suppossed to be long! the’re not like humans who need their hair under control, a brush, yes, but a shave, NO!, ARE PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR GOD DAMN MIND!, poor cat:(

Oster a5 is what they look like. I prefer to use Laube with a variable speed. they are quieter and you can start them at a lower speed to give the animal a chance to get use to the noise. Plus in my opinion the Oster clippers are garbage. Also a cats skin is very thin & easy to cut. The only blade I’d use is a #10. Anything longer can cut the skin & anything shorter will burn.
For those who don’t know Oster & most other professional clippers have snap on blades

everyones talking about this woman like that’s her cat. she’s a cat groomer. and people dont take care of their animals. i work in a grooming salon and dogs come in looking like hell, allllll theee time. its sad. i agree people should brush their animals.

If you aren’t brushing your cat regularly enough to prevent it from getting mats, you shouldn’t even be allowed to have a cat.

Listen up you illiterate sk8trboi, cats shed a shit load of hair and that’s how they loose heat, once a cat is shaved the risk of it gaining diseases increases 10 fold and it now can receive serious cuts and bruises. If you want a cat for some trophy and never let it get into any risk shave away I’ll spend my time doing something better than minding a $1000 cat!. Judging by the way your telling people off i’m doubting you’ve a degree in zoology.
p.s. sk8rboi is a name for gay 12 year olds

STFU, you are classic trash and need and education
November 22nd, 2009 at 2:22 am
Hey Stupid…..spend a thousand dollars on a Persian and maintain one and then youll understand why some need shaved. Not all do but some actually are better of with it during the summer, educate yourself

what diseases do indoor cats get? im just curious
November 22nd, 2009 at 5:03 am
long hair cats get matts very easily, especially in summer months. it is better for the cat to shave the fur than allow them to develop matts nd basically tear them out of their body
November 22nd, 2009 at 5:42 am
wow there are mean, dumb people out there thank you bxchick1230 at least your educated
November 22nd, 2009 at 5:56 am
It seems like no one is thinking here. Shes cutting the cats hair because the fur is matted. And perhaps this is a rescue cat, and therefore has mats.

u hate cat cause they r pussies…well dont forget you came out of one, jackass

If you’re going to rant about what someone else is doing that you think is “wrong” I suggest you learn how to spell and use proper grammar and punctuation. Otherwise, you just come off looking like an ass.
