How do you use a coffee percolator?

I have a coffee percolator. I know how much coffee and water to add and I know that you cook it over a low flame, but I don’t know how long to let it cook once it starts boiling and you can see it through the little glass cap.

Once you can see it through the little glass cap and it is brown – then it is ready. If you perk it too long, it can get a really nasty burnt taste.

5 Min’s for reg and if you like it stronger just add more coffee it you perk it longer it gets bitter
