Is there a way to make translucent paper at home?
How can I do this?

Japanese rice paper is translucent and lots of ppl make it by hand. But I don’t really know how. I think you basically spread the paper pulp out on a screen and let it dry. Then if you want to flatten it you can iron it. Here’s a link with instructions:

Outside of giving you a step by step from scratch recipe and a quick way to hang and dry using a coat hanger and panty hose…..
I made some once with plain paper……
wiping one drop tea tree oil added to olive oil over paper until translucent and the using corn meal to absorb.
Leave over nite on a absorbent material.. blot again in morning.
hang up to dry.
I only used this for a craft not to write on so not sure if you can write after process. Or color after wards..

The tea tree is a way to preserve which can be eliminated.
The reason this works has to do with air and light.
