When I think of padparadshas, I think of a salmon color. This is a gorgeous stone, but I’d call it an orange sapphire

It’s not “Padparadscha”
That is Red-Orange sapphire
Real Padparadscha color is Pink-Orange only

It’s sad that is has become that way. I’m glad all of the major gem appraisers haven’t abandoned the heart of what the “padparadscha” is all about. It’s a nice feeling having a paper from the AGTA clarifying that you have a padparadscha sapphire, not heated treated.

Unfortunately, the term “padparadscha” has become a broad description for sapphires ranging from pinkish-yellow to brownish-orange. My grandfather had one that was the most beautiful shade of dark pink-orange.

Padparadscha sapphires are supposed to be pinkish orange. This one is orange with yellow/gold flashes.
