Cat collar?

By Sydney

I need a great collar worthy of being worn by my cat Cornbread (that’s him in my avatar). He chews up those nylon ones and the only ones I’ve found in leather are too big (too wide, like for a dog) or have little rhinestones. Has anybody seen any great collars anywhere? He’s just not the bling type.

I got mine from ‘Pet City’, they are for cats and velvet. My cat tried chewing it but couldn’t as the velvet made him spit it out again. GIve them a go, they might work. It does for me.

i have sort of the same problem with my cat with collars. he got the cheap collar of on his own so we got him a more expensive collar.he scratches it up so we dont get him anymore. ur cat must hate collars alot to detsroy them. by the way nice name for a cat i dont no why i didnt think of that.

look at petsmart.com and make sure it is a safety collar meaning if it gets hung on something the collar will slip right off

How is it that your cat can chew something around his neck? Do you leave it loose enough that he can get it off?

Check online. The only thing about a leather collar is that they’re not (from what I’ve seen) breakaway. Cats get into the tiniest and most uncompromising places sometimes (both indoors and out) that it’s too risky to put anything but a breakaway collar on them. My cat has come home without her collar so many times that I’ve given up on making her wear one. If I had not put a breakaway collar on her she would problably have hung herself by now or died somewhere because she got caught on something. She’s got a microchip so even is she allowed someone to pick her up she would still come home to me.

I saw the ones at petco you could bling out if you wanted but the collars are sold seperate, They are made from a leather type substance and are small enough, I believe they also have the slip elastic safety feature so your cat doesnt choke if caught on something.

Well I think cat collars are very dangerous! Remember a cat likes to jump and crawl in tight spaces so if say a branch hook your cat on the collar it Will immediately hang him. Where I’m from cat collars are a type of animal abuse that is how dangerous it is

I got my cats collar at Petsmart. They have a variety of collars and hranesses. The best thing is that you can bring your cat in and the employees can help you and your cat find the perfect collar and find the perfect fit. Trust me..They have a huge variety and that way your cat can also choose! You can only get the best at Petsmart, not only the best for you but also your cat!
Good luck and may God be with you.

P.S: There are collars that have are “Snap-Quick” meaning, if your cats collar gets stuck on a branch or something like that, it will not hang your cat it will simply snap open and your cat can escape saftley. I’m telling you..Petsmart is the way to go for safety and looks.
